3One of the few trains with track for the under 2 setApr 19, 2009
By Elizabeth Irving McCullough "Picky Mom"
We ordered this train because our 6 month old loved to watch motorized trains and we wanted one on a track so we wouldn't have to keep going and getting the train and sending it back to him. Most train sets can't be used for babies but this one is fine for him to chew on, throw around, etc and he hasn't hurt the train/track yet or himslef playing with it. He likes watching it go around the track and the music and the moving people/animals and red light. The down side is the train cars come apart very easily and are very difficult to get back together properly so that they're really locked into place. Hooking them together frustrates me and is almost impossible for my 4 yr old. Also, it eats batteries - went through a set in 24 hrs. So we swtiched to rechargeables. Of course, if you let a baby get with in reach of the set, the train and track are ripped apart in about 5 seconds, so it's better as something to watch while he's in his highchair or put up on a table he can't reach. My biggest dissappoint is that he can so easily take the train apart and it's so time consuming to put back together - if I could let him play with it and then hook it back up in a matter of seconds it would be a much more useable toy.

4Toddler trainSep 20, 2010
By Kristie Stariha
My 2 1/2 year old loves this train. He received as it as a Christmas gift last year and 9 months later we are just now needing to replace the batteries. He doesn't play with it everyday though because I rotate his toys around ever 2-3 weeks. The train cars are a little difficult to put together but I didn't think it was that big of deal. A child will have a hard time doing it though. But overall my son really loves it and gets a lot of enjoyment out of it. And we haven't had any problems with the paint either.

1Very frustrating toy!Jun 18, 2010
By Kristie M. Rizzio "Krisss"
This toy is absolutely adorable - when it is actually all put together. I agree with a previous poster - the pieces do not stay together at all. After you attach the train to the other pieces to make a complete train, it falls apart even if you touch it. It is really difficult to attach them together again, so you get a frustrated toddler AND parent. I dread when my daughter wants to play with this because it turns into an unpleasant experience for both of us.

I should also add that when all the pieces are together, the train does not have enough power to pull it across carpet. So it must be on the provided track (which also falls apart easily - grr!!) or a hard surface.

It is a real shame because it's so darn cute.

1Paint hazzardApr 06, 2010
By VanDammage "Hi. Would you like a roundhouse kick to the throat?"
My 7 mo old son received this train as a gift. He immediately picked up one of the animals, stuck it in his mouth and the paint came off in his mouth! This toy is an import from China (where lead paint is still used on some toys). Personally, I am not willing to risk it. I threw the set away.

5My 2 year old loves this trainset!Dec 21, 2011

I went to our local Dollar General store recently and found this exact toy for $5.00!!! I was thrilled to find out what a great deal I had gotten. Our 2 year old son loves this train set and puts the cars together easily. He loves to assemble and disassemble the track over and over. He's very good with his coordination. I would strongly recommend this toy to anyone. It's a good toy to help with a child's hand eye coordination. The songs get caught in your head too, which he loves.
