Museum Replica Models via Wow ToysJan 29, 2010
By Diecast Joe
"Diecast Joe"
I buy many "die cast" model planes to supplement the aviation art collection I have. I have found that the die cast (light weight metal) 1/48th models via suppliers such as "Historic Aviation" and "Military Issue" are far an away much more substantial, accurate, worth the cost, than the two die cast plane models I purchased on Amazon.com via the "Wow Toy" company.
Not What I Would Expect with Smithsonian Associated with It.Feb 03, 2012
By Robert S. Warner I have this model bought through Mighty Toy. I'd have expected more exacting construction with Smithsonian on the description. The worst is the way the panels meet toward the rear of the fuselage. A poor job with gaps. I can see right though the body. Acutally, even worse yet is the way the panels meet under the wings.
It's not a hundred dollar model, but it looks fairly attractive if you don't look close.
Splitting image of the one hanging in the Smitsonian...Jan 01, 2011
By Zach Like most all the other Smitsonian planes, the Mustang is durable, detailed and great as either a toy or for display. It should be noted that the landing gear covers do not move, so if you want, you can remove them when the landing gear is folded up for flight.

Another winnerFeb 09, 2010
By M. Larsen I have a collection of several of the WWII planes. Love to look at them all together and think about their roles.
