2Not Worth The MoneyApr 19, 2010
By K. Wiebe
My 6 year old son was very disappointed with the set. The truck that hauls the rocket isn't made for the set. The rocket doesn't fit on the trailer and doesn't stay put AT ALL. It has no way of latching in. The picture on Amazon makes it look like it fits well. It slides right off the truck. The lunar lander is about the only good quality metal in the set. The shuttle is metal but feels flimsy. The "backpack" is cheap plastic that will not withstand time. We paid [...] on Amazon. Very disappointed as my son saved his allowance for 5 weeks in anticipation for this set. If I had seen it in a retail store, I would have known it was not worth the money. One redeeming quality that I'm sure the manufacturers didn't intend is that the rocket is very well balanced and when placed in water (grandparent's hottub) it inevitably always lands up-right at the bottom. The rocket has since become a water toy!

3Small pieces, but my boy likes themJan 21, 2010
By G. Bowerbank
My boy sloves this, let me rephrase, my boys loves two of the pieces included, the space shuttle and the space rocket. The other pieces are so small ( 1 2/2 inches -2 inches) that they were forgotten and lost after the second day. My boy loves space anything and still playes with the two larger toys. If the rest of the toys were bigger then he would pay attention to them too.

3too expensiveMay 14, 2010
By Dr.Mom "Marion"
The space shuttle and rocket are metal and sturdy, but the wheels on the shuttle are very flimsy. The truck is plastic and flimsy. Rest of items are not well made. Backpack is okay. Grandson loves space shuttles and rockets so he likes the items, but not worth the price.

5Happy Nephew!Jul 10, 2009
By Arcturus70 "Arcturus70"
I purchased this for my four year old nephew who loves spaces toys and trucks and who is noticing and asking questions about the moon. This item proved to be a big hit with him because it contains space toys and a truck, all in one exciting package! LOL The toys were small enough for him to play with well with little hands, and the topics were big enough for him to ask as many questions as he liked about the space shuttle, the moon, and rockets. The set came with a cool rocket comparison poster that will be of benefit to him when he gets a bit older to read and understand. He was fascinated by the backpack style carrying bag which makes travel to and from his house to grandmother's much easier. The playset does inspire creative play while also sparking an interest in science and space studies. I found him fashioning moon craters out of Play Doh so that his new, tiny astronauts could climb into them and make "footprints" on the moon.

For the price, the quality, and the hours of enjoyment he has received, this was well worth it. Note: the pieces of this set are small so I would caution any parent who has a child who tends to put things in his / her mouth. This playset would not be appropriate in that situation.

4Fun for a five year oldApr 24, 2009
By Joyce Ann Jacobs "Avid reader"
My grandson, Arlo, just loved this toy. I first saw it in the gift shop of the Lowell Observatory and knew he would like it but then I bought it on Amazon so I wouldn't have to lug it home. It was a great success.
