WARNING:
CHOKING HAZARD -- Small parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.

This styrofoam glider makes an excellent Òfirst flyerÓ for youngsters. With a giant two-foot wingspan, this glider might seem a little unwieldy, but itÕs actually an excellent flyer. Great pool side toy!

1It doesn't cost very much - and is worth much less than thatDec 27, 2010

Nobody expects much out of a cheap Styrofoam glider but this one can't deliver on even the lowest expectations. First off, it doesn't glide. I'm not even exaggerating - your Aunt Betty's meat-loaf has better flight characteristics than this. Second off, it's brittle - lasted about 7.9 seconds from the time of full assembly (including attaching the stick-proof stickers that came shooting off in mid-flight like confetti at the May-day parade) until the first crack appeared. Stick with folding up your newspaper into a giant paper-airplane. That beats the pants off of this pathetic piece of junk any day. I just hope whomever has the ignominy of this air-brick attached to their name isn't in charge of anything more important to humanity than this.

5fun for all agesSep 24, 2011
By Jane
This foam glider plane is fun for people of all ages. My daughter, who is 5 and I take these to the park or out in our neighborhood and within minutes we have people of all ages wanting to play with it. It is easy to assemble, the stickers are fun. It takes a few tries to figure out how to throw it and it does amazing loop de loops and side loops and all kinds of crazy flying. In the wind, the flight patterns are crazier. It lands in all kinds of ways, sometimes glides like a proper airplane landing and sometimes does a spectacular crash landing with the wings falling off and bouncing all over. The kids run all around chasing it, putting it back together and then figure out whose turn it is next. The unpredictability of the flight and landing is part of what makes this toy so much fun. Kids learn about wind and flight patterns depending on how they launch it. These toys tend to break with lots of different people using them and crashing them, but only if we step on it do we actually render it unusable. They fix easy with duct tape. It needs space to fly and watch out for trees and roofs and balconies because it can get stuck in those places. For the price, it is a simple and fun toy, good for boys and girls of all ages. Great for parents like me who want to play too. I recommend having a few on hand in case it breaks or gets stuck high up somewhere.

1Let your imagination soar, just don't expect this glider to.Jan 04, 2011

Bought a couple of these for the kids to play with for christmas day, I remember as a kid playing with gliders and they can be a lot of fun.

These are not those gliders however. You throw it very hard, it gets a lot of lift, goes straight up, then straight back down. If you throw it soft enough to not go up, it will only go about 10 feet before hitting the ground.

It seems to be pretty durable, (as far as foam gliders go) though we've only played with it on grass. the stickers don't stick to good, though I've never seen many stickers that will stick to styrofoam.

I would not recommend getting this as a glider, though it looks like a convincing model airplane, and younger children would still have fun with it, or ours did.

5hit for the little onesSep 15, 2011

Instant gratification with the lot of Sky Raiders I bought for our Labor Day BBQ. I knew there was going to be a lot of little kids- too young for horseshoes or croquet. Slip the wings in throw some stickers on you've got a flyer. Bought plenty so there were no fights thank god! Durable, even in the face of tree branches. Even made it's way into the pond and floated! Great addition to our lawn toys.

4Great Foam GliderJul 30, 2011

This product was a hit with my 5 year old grandsons. They managed to break it many times but masking tape and toothpicks held it together. After a week of constant use one plane was delegated as spare parts and the other flew on.
