I just did this puzzle with my six-year-old son. I have not done many puzzles, mostly with my son, so this was my first 1000 piece puzzle, too. The quality of the pieces is good, but not top-notch. A few pieces needed to be carefully cut apart. The detail on the planes is really good, and the pieces go together and stay together. It varies between easy and hard. Some of the plane pieces are easy, even my son found them so. On the other hand, there are about 100 plain white or gray pieces, which are certainly a challenge, and another 30-40 with only a hairline radio antenna. We left them for last, and they didn't take too long. We spent over ten hours working on the puzzle (I make no claims that we bring any particular skill to this), and we had a lot of fun.

We love this puzzle! It's fun trying to find the right piece for the plane you are working on. It will be a great poster for my son's WWII aircraft bedroom when we are done. It's turned out to be a great family evening project!!!
